Service Description
Special requirements for classes during the pandemic. Picture of vaccination card is required by email or text within 24 hours of signup. If you did this when taking Silversmithing 1, that will meet the requirement. Masks may also be required for you in the class depending on what the CDC recommendations are, or if you have not provided your vax card. This class is the second in a series of three designed to introduce students to the process of fabricating (constructing) jewelry using techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, finishing and polishing. SSII focuses on soldering; specifically pick soldering. Students will be making a chain of soldered links-including cutting their own jump rings! Please note: learning to solder, especially pick soldering, is a skill essential to your success in every area of silversmithing! Prerequisite: Silversmithing I Supply kit for this class is around $55, which is due at the beginning of class. You will also need to purchase a Butane torch and a canister of butane fuel (in addition to the kit) for this course, which should to be purchased at the beginning of the class unless you bring these items from home. No additional tools are required for the class apart from what is provided at the benches in the classroom.
