- Ridgedale Drive

Service Description
In this course, you will be introduced to the process of setting faceted stones into pre-notched settings. It's a great way to familiarize yourself with adjusting the prongs to seat the stone properly, tighten the settings to secure the stone, and finish off by pushing the tips over the stone's edge and finishing as needed. You'll get a lot of information in this class as we will also be covering the different types of stone settings and different cuts and shapes of stones and the challenges that some of the shapes will present you with. We'll be working with calibrated synthetic stones and sterling settings. Plan to complete a pendant setting with a pair of prong set stud earrings. The materials for this course are in kit form. Kit Price: will run approximately $35 for the sterling settings and the stones. You can purchase additional settings if you'd like to practice further on your own after class. Being able to see clearly is essential to your success, so please plan to bring any portable lighting and magnification you prefer to use with you. We have Optivisor's and 2.75 cheater reading glasses available for use in the classroom. Prerequisite: Silversmithing 3
